Something a little different

After the umpteenth time being asked for advice on becoming a journalist, I finally got round to writing it up for my website. Next time I’m asked I can just point here: So you want to be a journalist.

I hope it’s an interesting read even for people who have more sense than to go into an industry that, despite at its best offering the chance to go amazing places, meet fascinating people and ask the sorts of intrusive questions that would be totally unacceptable in any other situation, is also going through wrenching change as advertising revenue dries up, and social media and search engines cannibalise content.
